Privacy Policy
Effective 11 October 2026 · applies to the Kachello Android app, version 1.27 and later
- Your workouts, measurements, notes and progress photos stay on your device.
- The app has no accounts and shows no ads. We do not sell or share data for advertising.
- With your permission (on by default, can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy) the app sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.
Who we are
Kachello is developed by Aleksandr Dvinskikh (“we”). For any question about this policy or your data, write to support@kachello.com.
Data that stays on your device
Everything you enter — workouts, sets, programs, body measurements, exercise notes and settings — and the progress photos you take are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. We have no copy of them. Backup and CSV files you export go only where you choose to save them. If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the app’s data in your device backup in your own Google account. Uninstalling the app deletes the data on the device.
Anonymous usage statistics
| What | Events such as “workout finished” with counts only: duration in minutes, number of exercises and sets, the type of workout and its profile (light / normal / heavy), identifiers of built-in programs, exercises and achievements, and the names of app screens you open. Device and app details: app version, Android version, device model, interface language. A random identifier created on installation, not linked to your name or email. |
|---|---|
| Never included | Names, email addresses, the text of your notes, photos, weights of individual sets, your contacts or precise location. |
| Why | To understand which features are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve the app. |
| Processor | PostHog Inc., PostHog Cloud EU (servers in Frankfurt, Germany). IP addresses are not stored. |
| Kept for | Up to 1 year. |
| Turn off | Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage statistics. |
Crash reports
| What | When the app crashes: the technical error trace, app version, Android version, device model, free memory and storage, interface language, the training mode in use, and a random Crashlytics installation identifier. |
|---|---|
| Why | To find and fix crashes. |
| Processor | Google Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC). Data may be processed in the United States under Google’s data protection terms and the EU standard contractual clauses. |
| Kept for | 90 days. |
| Turn off | Settings → Privacy → Send crash reports. |
Legal basis
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, statistics and crash reports are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app reliable and useful (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by turning them off in Settings → Privacy; this takes effect immediately.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing and to complain to a data protection authority. Because the statistics and crash reports are not linked to your identity, we usually cannot single out your records; turning the toggles off stops any further collection. Contact us at support@kachello.com for any request.
Children
Kachello is not directed to children under 16.
Changes
If the app starts to handle data differently — for example when optional accounts and cloud sync are introduced — this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
